This contemporary rug not a photo of the traditional one I ordered! The rug/photo has been changed. The excellent rug we ordered from Amazon is NOT this pic, but: Home Dynamix Royalty 41200B-450 Black 7-Feet 8-Inch by 10-Feet 4-Inch Traditional Area Rug. Keep in mind, the borders are really black, and the carpet is dark. If you're seeking a cozy, richly colored Victorian or Craftsman look, this (not the rug pictured here) will add to your environment. You can't beat the level of floor-coverage for this price, my old wood floors needed a rescue. Appears far more expensive than it is, and weighs twice as much as other Home Dynamix rugs of the same size (the $109.99 8 x 11 rugs weigh half as much, and won't lay flat). For only $45 more, you get this great-quality rug here. We've had real-wool rugs, and got tired of vacuuming up their fuzzy mess. This man-made material is better for allergy/dust/asthma sufferers. Be sure to order a good rug pad as well Ultra Stop Non-Slip Indoor Rug Pad, Size: 8' x 10' Rug Pad, not just for obvious reasons, but to add plushness underfoot. This rug is a nice change from squeaky wooden floorboards; you don't have to suffer with cold, bare floors!

I purchased the 5x7 rug, hoping it would be okay looking for the price. I was surprised how great it looked and ordered a larger one for another room. I think it's a great value. You'd never know, to look at it or even touch it, that it's not a more expensive fiber. It also arrived quickly, shortly before Christmas. Very pleased.Update Oct 2012- The rug still looks good, color wise, but it's "wrinkling" and won't lay flat. I'm not sure what to do to solve this problem and it is a problem because I've tripped on it a couple of times. I think foot traffic patterns have caused it to stretch. :( I've downgraded from 5 stars to 3 stars.

Design is nice. Not as thick and plush as I thought. Need a slip proof mat underneath. Consider the price. You get what you pay for.
