First review ever written! I feel compelled. I ordered this exact item a month prior for a flight of stairs and I LOVE the item. There was a strip of velcro sewn onto the back side of the tread(very strong) and on the other side you peeled a strip of paper revealing the adhesive side that attached to the stair. Super easy to install. And very secure to the stair. With this second purchase, this item came with no velcro, or tape etc. The treads slid all over the stairs making it very unsafe. I was told by the manufacture to go buy carpet adhesive, $20.00 later the treads still slipped. Then $40.00 later I purchased Velcro on a roll and cut to length. It is fine. But ended up spending the same amount on the treads as the first purchase and an additional $60.00 on the second to make the treads safe. I love the product though but, was surprised by the expense I incurred to make the second set of treads as safe as the first set I purchased.

Looks just like the image in the description, the manufacturer customer service is fine, and the product is certainly priced right. The product is available at several price points, from $129 to $165 at the time of this writing, but except for the velcro backing for the two higher priced products, the quality (according to the manufacturer) is idendical.

I was able to get rid of carpet stair treads & instead have natural fiber treads. They are well made, & I used double sided carpet tape to install them on my oak stairs. No problem with them slipping & my dogs had no problem adjusting to the change.
