I was really impressed by the workmanship put into this mat. After I bought my first one, I ordered a second.I would recommend buyers to apply a simple coat of wax in order to prevent staining. These are not laminated. So, if you splash red wine or lime Jello (as examples...I am not in the creative mood right now), it will wipe right off.I used to live in Honolulu and this really takes me back there.A lot of people do not know that bamboo is naturally fire-retardant. I purchased these as a way of keeping my rug from burn-marks because a few of my friends smoke. In the past, I had terrible burns on my carpet, now...NONE:)I think anyone reading this will be happy with the mats.Oh BTW, because they are bamboo, they can be used indoors or outdoors.If this review is helpful, please click "yes" on the button below.Have a Great Day,RL MilesChicago, IL

I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this carpet.The bottom of the carpet is layered with a high quality padded surface that provides it grip to stay put on hard surfaces.This carpet is beautiful and should be used mainly for decorative purpose.

The bamboo mat looks very nice. I have been using it for over a month as an Office Mat for my chair and so far so good.I was somewhat disappointed about the thickness of the Bamboo slats, only 1/8". I ordered rubber wheels for my chair as the plastic casters would have ruined the bamboo by now. Also the mat has a tenancy to curial up along the sides, so I am using paper weights to keep the edges down.For those two reasons I only gave the mat a 4 star rating.10/31/2013Do not buy for carpet mat, the bamboo starting splintering after 5 mo of use. Mat isn't sturdy enough for heavy use.I would only rate it at a 1 today!!
